Marco Flores´ dance training is mainly self-taught, he has strengthen his knowledge on stage. His education has been broadened taking intensive courses with teachers such as: Javier Latorre, Antonio Canales and Dagmara Brown.
His first steps as a performer are with top dance companies such as Sara Baras or Rafaela Carrasco, not long after he starts joining renowned dancers such as Mercedes Ruíz and Miguel Ángel Berna as a guest artist in their shows.
In 2001 he moves to Madrid, a synergy beehive of flamenco musicians and dancers, which led to the creation of many works with artists such as: Olga Pericet, Manuel Liñán and Daniel Doña. 2 en compañía, Chanta la Mui, Complot, o En sus 13 are some of the shows created, all of them received critical and popular acclaim and were performed in flamenco and other dance venues, as well as in many festivals. His solo performances also took him to important festivals such as: Festival Flamenco de Nîmes (France) and Festival Flamenco de Ciutat Vella (Barcelona).
In 2010 Marco Flores consolidates his solo career with his show DeFlamencas at Gran Teatro de Córdoba, with this first solo work as Marco Flores CIA. It became evident that he is an experienced artist with great skills as a performer, choreographer, producer and director. DeFlamencas has been performed in different cities in France, Portugal, USA and Finland, after being acclaimed in the Bienal de Flamenco de Sevilla and after receiving the Best Show Award of the Specialized Critics in Festival de Jeréz 2012.
Simultaneously his show Tránsito, a revised and updated compendium of his previous choreographies is performed in festivals such as Ciutat Vella (Barcelona), Suma Flamenca (Madrid), Festival Flamenco Tanzhaus (Düsseldorf), Veranos del Corral (Granada).
In 2013 he premieres Laberíntica as part of Bienal de Arte Flamenco de Málaga. This new production represents a big step forward in his already solid experiece as a director, choreographer and performer; as well as a challenge in his artistic journey as one of the main flamenco figures of his generation. Laberíntica is also performed with great success in Festival de Jerez 2014, considered by many as the most important flamenco festival.
That same year he is invited to take part in the Festival de Jerez Opening Gala with the show “Las cinco estaciones” along with Blanca del Rey, Olga Pericet, Laura Rozalén and Mercedes Ruiz. Due to its success this show is also performed in the Original Flamenco Festival 2013 in Madrid and also as part of Flamenco Festival at Sadler’s Wells Theatre in London.
Nowadays Marco Flores tours around Spain and abroad with his three solo productions: DeFlamencas, Tránsito and Laberíntica. He also choreographs for many artists.
Marco Flores dance company has travelled around the world being present in the most important flamenco events: Festival de Jerez, Nimes, USA, London, Albuquerque, Ciutat Vella, Festival Suma Flamenca de Madrid and Bienal de Sevilla among others. As well as in many prestigious theaters: Lope de Vega (Seville), Teatro Albéniz (Madrid), Maison de la Danse (Lyon), Sydney Opera House, City Center (NYC), Lisner Auditorium (Washington), Crocus City Hall (Moscow), Damascus Opera House, Sadler Wells (London) and Chaillot National Theater (Paris).
